Works well, very sensitive motion sensor, compact size
Work as expected, and they work with Hubitat.Easy to set up, the bedroom unit activates the LED light set for 10% brightness for 15 seconds at night – very user controllable via Alexa app. Bought a 4-pack and will be deployed for using the motion sensors to activate external functions in Hubitat. The night light feature will be deactivated for these.Another plus, the are AC mains powered. No pesky battery replacement needed. Very satisfied with the product. Highly recommended.

    Not reliable (yet) [updated]
I’ve had this for about a week, set up through Matter with Apple HomeKit. I updated the device with their app when I first installed it, and have set up a couple of automations to use this as a status light for doors open or unlocked, but the light has become unresponsive a couple of times over the last week. I’m not sure if the issue is with Matter or the light, so I’ll be hanging on to it hoping for both of them to become more reliable, but I’m not going to make this a part of my setup that I rely on.Update 1/26/24 – the manufacturer reached out to ensure I was on the newest firmware, which I was, then mentioned an update, though I haven’t seen the update come through yet. However, in the meantime, the product has been stable, so I updated from 2 to 4 stars. I’m going to add some HomeKit automations for the motion sensor and status light and see how it does.Update 6/22/24Happy to say, these are working well in HomeKit. There was recently an update that resolved my last issue, needing to power cycle these units if the WiFi went down, as they wouldn’t automatically reconnect. Next up is to migrate these to home assistant, as the HomeKit setup as a status light for open unlocked doors is wildly complicated, due to the limitations of HomeKit.

This night light works as expected
When I bought this, I thought it was defective. I WAS WRONG! The only problem was me. I was trying to integrate this into Home Assistant. I was logged into HA as a regular user, not as an Admin. After correcting for my dumb, I got this operational. I have been fine tuning it’s operation under HA for a little while. Remember, this is NOT a plug and play device. If you plug it in, it will NOT automatically turn on the light at night, at least under HA. You must use it’s Motion detection, and LUX level, if you want, to the tell the light when to turn on or off. After getting it to work the way I wanted, I have also used it to also turn on a secondary light in the area, a bedroom, for more complete lighting. If you use this in a small to medium room, i.e. a bathroom, this light is plenty bright enough.I have never been a fan of turning on bright lights at night just to walk around. I just want enough light to avoid objects and anything a pet might move/leave for me.If you are automating your house, this Night Light is great!

    Utter Rubbish
** UPDATE on 3/21 following installing the firmware update. **3 hours later and I’ve factory reset all 3 units and re-added them several times. I’ve deleted and re-installed the 3R-Installer app. Got further than previous few attempts. But at the end of the day, the device name, color choice, and brightness all reset at random as always. See review headline^^^^**************Bought 3 of these. As far as I can tell they are using consumers to do the beta testing. This product is not ready for the average person. I have 35 home automation sensors and gadgets connected to my network. This one setup pretty easily *once* I understood that it takes TWO apps to do so. There is one app just to connect it to your Matter network. Then another app to configure the features.I added it to Apple Home. It worked for a couple of days. Then I noticed that all of them had defaulted back to 100% brightness and plain white light. I have tried multiple times to set them back to 50% and different hues. After a span of several minutes to hours they default back. Going to return before I go nutso!

Matter device that works very well.
I have this light paired with a Hubitat Elevation C-8 Pro hub. It paired without any issue and is working very well. I definitely recommend it.

    Cannot connect to my HomeKit.
Devices connect and function perfectly fine through the 3R-Installer.Attempting to then add to the HomeKit is not working. It will say it connected to the device and I can name it in HomeKit. But after it has been added the device continues to be listed as unresponsive and will never connect.Factory reset both devices twice and they are on the up to date firmware according to the 3R-Installer. Still won’t properly connect and function through HomeKit.Likely going to return.

Easy setup via Matter to Homekit. The ThirdReality matter app was a bit troublesome to connect to the Smart Night Light, it worked the 7th time around. The device was updated via the ThirdReality matter app to the latest version. The Third Reality matter app doesn’t have many features to customize the use of the Smart Night Light. There is another Third Reality app, not the matter app, and that app does not work with this device without a Home Hub from Third Reality or other. My intent with this night light was something “smart” that I could use for my toddler to use the washroom at night, as I figure if he sits on the toilet for more than 5-minutes this could send my phone an alarm that he might need help (usually he waits for me to help clean up or get down after he kicks away the stool).Given that it has both an occupancy sensor and light (lux) sensor, I expected it to function similar to a wall sensor where if natural light or another light is present (stronger lux) than the night light turns off, or if there is no occupancy, the sensor shuts off the light. I tried programming some of these to the Smart Night Light via Apple Home, however, the application of the Apple Home automations resulted in this being odd in its functionality, to summarize:- No occupancy, turn off light after 3 minutes results in the light turning off after 42 seconds and then taking 37 seconds minutes to turn back on. Yes I measured the time, same amount of time each occurrence. Very odd.- The occupancy sensor is super sensitive, and works really well at detecting occupancy and turning on when you have no “auto-off” automations. It just doesn’t turn off on its own, and the Third Reality matter app has no ability to schedule an auto-off.- The lux sensor is great at telling you the brightness in the room, but doesn’t seem to work with any further functionality. I setup some automations so that if the washroom light is on, or the sun is up (via window) the Smart Night Light should not turn on. It turned on anyways and turned off based on the occupancy automation, or not at all once that automation was removed.- The colours of the light can vary vastly, which is very cool. I have it setup in red during the evening so it’s like a tactical night light.- The Smart Night Light can sync with HomePod to change colours when you play music, which is fun.The Smart Night Light has a lot of promise, but needs some more fine tuning from Third Reality. Some of the functionality could be overly improved (make this a 5/5 device) by simply giving tuning details for the user via either their Matter app or Apple Home – like if it detects occupancy, how long after should it turn off? How long after it turns off should it not turn on if it detects occupancy again (spoiler – it should turn on)?I’ll continue to use it but it’s a $70 night light that connects with HomeKit and tells me whether my kid is stuck on the toilet.

A nicely designed smart night light with motion sensor that works well when it works. Unfortunately, I ran into the following issues that forced me to return it:- At one point the device lost its Matter connection to my 4th gen Echo and I had to factory reset and re-register the device. Devices will occassionaly lose their network connection and removing and restoring power always resolves the issue for me. Having to factory reset and re-register a device is not viable as it de-registers the device from Alexa causing any Alexa routines that reference the device to have to be repaired or re-created.- Having the device turn on for motion and turn off after motion ended required a couple of Alexa routines, which was fine for me. In the ON routine I set the night light to white and in the OFF routine I set it to blue. This worked for a few days but then the behaviour changed and the night light would turn itself off completely instead of staying blue. In my mind this random behaviour change meant that the device was not stable and therefore not reliable.
